When I was young and as a result so immature

Christ the one true High Priest entered the Holy of Holies One Mediator
Between Pure God and fallen humans, when sins chasm separator
The only way truth and life to be in good grace of creation and Creator
When humans enslaved have almost lost all hope until came the Savior
Division would come to characterize the humans for many centuries
So the High Priest of the new covenant would cut the veil to the Sanctuary
Fear would motivate the political forces of hate filled legal authority
So the Spirit of Grace would overcome the mistrust and defeat war with peace
The cosmos corrupted by the fallen humans appetite so insatiable
When we could be the bread to nourish the hungry who are waiting
We take sustenance from most needy while we are busy with ethics and debating
God did not stand back idly He broke into the world to begin a New Creation
The Rite of Dying and sinking buried in the tomb by the Sacred Water Initiation
The Rite of Life completion in communion where the human soul is consummated
There on the Alter lies the mystery that you are meant to become and attain

Zoe often looked in the mirror and looked away
Consumed with the voices undignified that debate
Putting her down in despair stuck in her place
Deep down she just needed to hear she was no disgrace
When her parents split years ago she took all the blame
Disgusted and lost that security would no longer stay
And out moved her father and the whole family to change
What struck her was how they held no shame
For ending her world so abruptly to abbreviate
Father withheld affection for mother and daughter the same
And Zoe's mom seemed solely motivated by hate
They both expressed the marriage was merely a mistake
Likewise Zoe felt she was too as their comments implied
Zoe was trapped by the abandonment that her parents decided
So Zoe could count on being isolated at her home inside
She would often run away from the madness just to hide
Every year was a new hair color blonde to red to pink dye
And her clothes were an insane confusing mix of styles
Zoe believed that if she fit in at high school it would be alright
And help her forget that her home was wrecked by selfish pride
Sometimes Zoe would take to music to soothe the injury
While shut in her room she would voice her brokenness secretly
Writing poems by the pen of her tears she wasn't at liberty
With enough confidence to share the hidden masterpiece
She played social network games sometimes it was obscene
Being up to date with text messages and fashion magazines
Like all that mattered was getting a teenage boys consideration
So she busied her mind without a moment of meditation
Cause Zoe was convinced she was different lonely and solitary
Nobody could manage to comprehend it was just too scary
Zoe swiftly threw away love romance swore never to marry
Knowing no promise or feeling of joy could ever be carried
Zoe alone under the dark skies

Zoe was assigned to her dad every second weekend
The other side of the city and she couldn't see her friends
Though he often didn't show would call and yell so defensive
She would wind up with her Aunt Sophie a day instead
Zoe was usually relieved avoiding her dad's bummy place
Unclean trash apartment empty beer bottles and messy plates
Holed up in her guest room she much preferred to isolate
On those weekends Zoe's dad preferred the bar or hook up date
The other weekend's at her mom's she wouldn't return home
Out partying with some different guy Zoe couldn't condone
Both her parents often preferred a one night stand in scope
And Zoe felt useless and forsaken in the night without hope
Her Aunt Sophie, Mom's younger sister saw something missing
Zoe wore dark clothes dyed her hair black didn't care for anything
Sophie would bring her home offering to be listening
The only condition would be she would join Sophie Sunday morning
It didn't seem important enough to protest Zoe was listless
Yet somehow the preaching brought her some recognition
Thought she was a mistake Priest said she was God's intention
Thought nobody was there but he said she had God's attention
Deep down Zoe wanted to believe that she was destined

Monday's return to reality and so quickly she would forget
Sunday's peace disappeared with her mom's apathetic grin
Zoe dated boys but didn't commit for her cynical disposition
She craved more then this game of romantic imposition

Confused by a tension of inner emotional contradiction
